Films explore all sorts of issues and can challenge us to think about God, the human condition, forgiveness, hope, life, death and the meaning of love. Various films were on offer at Wesley Memorial during the day.

Prayer Swingball

A chance to share various ways of praying at Rose Hill Methodist Church between 10:30am and 12:30pm.

Tackley
|
The Methodist Church at Tackley was open from 10:30am until 4pm. There was a prayer wall for people to share their prayers as well as the chance to share in a prayer walk around the village.

Kennington
|
The Methodist Church at Kennington was open from 7:00pm until 9:15pm with a variety of prayer stations for people to engage with and enjoy.

Praying at home
|
For those unable to join us, or for those who wanted to continue sharing the day with God on returning home, a “Home Pack” was available in advance with prayers, reflections and other ideas for things to do at home. This remains available online.

The Lord’s Prayer
|
Want to feel part of the event throughout the day? We pledged to say the Lord’s Prayer every hour on the hour and invited people to join in and say it wherever they were in the knowledge they were not praying alone.

The Web of Prayer
|
We aimed to ensure that someone was consciously praying throughout every minute of every hour of the day and night. People were encouraged to sign up for 30 minute slots.

Online check-in
|
We hoped to provide updates during the day as to what had been happening, along with a forum where people could share their own prayers online. Due to a lack of ready internet access at Wesley Memorial, this sadly never materialised!

Prayer Scrabble & Bible Monopoly
|
For those brave souls keeping vigil throughout the night, something to keep the sandman at bay. In the end, we only played Prayer Scrabble as we still haven’t worked out the rules for Bible Monopoly!
